School Security & Safety

The Mount Olive School District in partnership with our local police department work together to implement a comprehensive School Emergency Management Plan which includes school security and safety drills.  Chief Stephen Beecher  and his fellow officers assist our schools to ensure that appropriate safety and security measures are in place for our students, staff and families.  Our Mount Olive Twp. Police can be seen regularly visiting our buildings, interacting with our students and working closely with the administration and teaching staff.

All Mount Olive schools have a video surveillance system to provide security for the grounds around and in the buildings. As a public school, one should not assume an expectation of privacy anywhere on the grounds with the surveillance system in use.  Our system provides substantial visual coverage of most areas on the property.  Those who are on school grounds before, during or after school should know their actions may be recorded at any time, 24 hours per day, seven days per week.  Video surveillance also occurs on school buses.

All visitors to our schools must enter using the main door entrance and check in via a kiosk. Visitors must have a valid driver's license to enter the building. All visitors must wear a visitor's badge while in the building.

All exterior doors are locked and secured on the campus. Students and staff are not allowed to open any doors for visitors.

Our schools perform routine safety drills with all students and staff throughout the school year. New Jersey State regulations require schools to execute a variety of drills for different scenarios.
